What is a clay bar?
Auto detailing clay bar is an engineered resin compound used to remove contaminants from the surface of your car’s paint, glass, fiberglass and metal. Detailing clay glides along the surface of your paint and grabs anything that protrudes from the surface such as industrial fallout, rail dust and brake dust. The particle sticks to the clay and is therefore removed from your vehicle.
This is a key step before any type of polishing or paint correction is done.
Why is a garage required for some services?
When you’re buffing and polishing outside, you risk on damaging the car's paint! Wind and other environmental factors can blow particles around and onto the paint while you’re polishing. These particles can severely damage your paint if caught in one of the polishing pads.
Sunlight and heat can cause dry buffing and damaging the paint.
What are swirl marks and how can you remove them?
Swirl marks are simply super fine scratches on the surface of the clear coat. One of the
most common causes is improper hand washing techniques. Wiping your car with a
drying towel when your vehicle’s paint has not been properly decontaminated could also cause swirl marks.
Polishing the paint with an electric polisher removes swirl marks. Depending on the
condition of the paint, a specific cutting grade polishing paste would be used.
What is paint correction?
Paint correction is the process of reducing or removing
surface imperfections on the vehicles clear coat.
What is the difference between liquid wax and paste wax?
Car wax comes in several forms with unique application methods.
There are two popular types of wax - paste wax and liquid wax.
Paste wax provides an exceptional shine, it is exceptionally strong and it is a natural solution. The natural oils in carnauba wax help to form protective shell that amplifies the luster of paint. When the natural wax cures, it protects paint from UV rays, light scratches and environmental fallout.
Liquid wax is a synthetic polymer that provides the same job of a natural car wax
forming a hard shell over a paint surface. It is more economical and faster to apply.
